Specifically, if you’re looking for reasons to tune in to the closing stretch of the Ottawa Senators’ season, the Anthony Duclair Watch continues to be intriguing.
The well-travelled Duclair has made the most of his 15-game trial with the Senators, registering five goals and four assists. While late-season numbers for players and teams out of a playoff race can sometimes be misleading, Duclair certainly hasn’t disappointed since arriving from Columbus as part of the trade-deadline deal for Ryan Dzingel. “I’m getting familiar with the city and that’s helping my game on the ice because I’m comfortable off the ice,” Duclair said following practice Wednesday in preparation for Thursday’s game against the Florida Panthers. Duclair, who has also played for the New York Rangers, Arizona Coyotes and Chicago Blackhawks, has always been an offensive player, but he says he doesn’t set pre-season goals and point total numbers for himself. “My goal is to be able to earn the trust of my coaches and teammates to stay in the lineup,” said Duclair, who becomes a restricted free agent (with arbitration rights) following the season. “There are always new guys coming in. The job is always not safe.” More info : https://ottawacitizen.com/sports/hockey/nhl/ottawa-senators/warrenspiece-duclair-keeps-producing-the-max-factor-ceci-could-return-and-cash-for-preventing-substance-abuse/wcm/4216b0ab-bcf8-436b-8034-803a6687027b
